Earn your Master of Education Degree at Carthage

Carthage’s Master of Education degree is designed for educators ready to move their career to the next tier.

Graduate courses in education are built to develop leadership skills, engage in research to improve educational practices and policies, and provide opportunities for exploring new areas of expertise and specialty. Our programs balance practical classroom applications with engaging research and were developed collaboratively by Carthage faculty working in partnership with K-12 teachers and administrators.

The program is delivered with the working adult in mind. Students can take classes in our HyFlex format, with in-person and online options.

Master of Education

Carthage’s Master of Education program offers multiple concentrations so you can pick the path that best fits your future goals. Whether you’re looking to be a leader in your classroom, school, or district, the Master of Education can be shaped for you.

Accelerated Certification for Teachers

Carthage’s Accelerated Certification for Teachers (ACT) program is designed for professionals who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in a content area and are interested in earning teacher licensure.

Courses are offered in seven-week sessions so students can start the program at any time! All courses are offered in our HyFlex model, with in-person and online options. Our in-person courses are offered on week nights or once-a-month Saturday seminars.

Add-On Licensures

Carthage built its add-on license program for students who already have a teaching license but want to build their professional credentials and explore new leadership opportunities.

Students wishing to add additional licensure should meet with the program director for a transcript review. The program director will work with the candidate to clarify which courses are met through other licensure work, and which courses need to be completed at Carthage in order to earn the additional license.
